This place contains 5 films and no extra features have been announced. The site is due to go on sale November 3 along with a volume 2 of film noir from Sony on the same day. Sony continues to hit it out of the park with classic sets being announced rather regularly this year. The films in volume one are as follows:

The Sniper (1952) – directed by Edward Dmytrik and starring Adolphe Menjou, Arthur Franz, and Gerald Mohr. A San Francisco detective traces a series of seemingly random killings to a sharp-eyed loner who uses his rifle as a means to true deadly revenge on the women who have rejected him.
5 Against the House (1955) – directed by Phil Karlson and starring Brian Keith, Guy Madison, Alvy Moore, and Kim Novak. Four college pals position to choose a casino in Reno unbiased to display it can be done, but their notion to return the money is threatened when one of them intends to maintain it for himself. Probably the weakest film of the lot.

The Lineup (1958) directed by Don Siegel and starring Eli Wallach and Robert Keith. When a mother and her young daughter unknowingly extinguish a stash of heroin, a pair of hit men must hold them alive long enough to account for it to their boss. Eli Wallach makes a enormous villain and the scenes of San Francisco 50 years ago are intriguing too.
Murder by Contract (1958) directed by Irving Lerner and starring Vince Edwards as a well-mannered college-educated young man who honest figures that being a hitman is a fine procedure to do a living. Claude is usually philisophical yet mechanical about his hits, but when he is hired to destroy a woman who is about to turn in evidence against the seedy mobster he works for everything starts to go bad for him.
The Colossal Heat (1953) directed by Fritz Lang and starring Glenn Ford, Gloria Grahame, and Lee Marvin. Ford is a cop trying to shipshape up mob violence in his town, but when he gets too terminate to success a car bomb meant for him kills his wife. This puts Ford on an unstoppable quest for justice since this has now become personal. Grahame stars as a good-hearted moll and Marvin as a mobster with an unpredictable temper. This is the best film in the bunch.
Part of the above information is directly from the press release and allotment of it is from my enjoy memory of the films. Rumor has it that Martin Scorsese picked the films that went in this and volume two of Sony’s film noir sets. I have no belief what Scorsese’s relationship to Sony would effect him in this capacity.
The Sniper features an audio commentary by author Eddie Muller. He starts off talking about the origins of the film – a husband and wife writing team. He mentions that it was a very controversial film at the time because of its subject matter. Muller provides all kinds of consuming production details, like how grand of the film was shot on plot in San Francisco. He explains that The Sniper is a landmark film because it was one of the first to prominently feature a serial killer.
“Martin Scorsese Presents The Sniper” features the legendary filmmaker talking about the documentary feel of the film thanks to the exercise of authentic locations.
Also included is an unique theatrical trailer.
The Immense Heat starts off with “Michael Mann on The Broad Heat.” He speaks admiringly about the prominent female characters in the film. The director talks about the ethnic aspect of the film as well as the uncompromising nature of Glenn Ford’s character.
“Martin Scorsese on The Tall Heat” features the director talking about how Ford’s character becomes what he’s fighting against. Scorsese draws particular attention to the flat notice of the film and how director Fritz Lang directs us to the behaviour of the characters.
Also included is the unusual theatrical trailer.
The only extra for 5 Against the House is the new theatrical trailer.
The Lineup includes an audio commentary by author Eddie Muller and James Ellroy. Muller says that this film started off as a television prove carve from the same cloth as Dragnet. He plays the straight man on this track, rattling off facts, while Ellroy is his usual colourful and profane self offering his bizarro opinions on this film. He sings the praises of Don Siegel’s more than friendly direction. Fans of Ellroy will like this track as he gets to sever loose have some fun commenting on The Lineup.
“The Influence of Noir with Christopher Nolan” sees this respected director citing noir as an influence on his maintain work, most notably the psychological states of the characters, the atmosphere and the style in relation to the substance and how they all interact with one another.
Also included is the unique theatrical trailer.
Murder by Contract features “Martin Scorsese on Kill by Contract.” He reminisces about when he first saw the film as a teenager and how it would later influence aspects of Taxi Driver. The director speaks admiringly of the “economy of means” – how Irving Lerner depicted the passing of time. Scorsese gives us a brief background to Lerner and talks about how he got to know and even work with him.
Finally, there is the recent theatrical trailer.

According to DVDTalk (gaze the forums), they have previewed this dwelling and at least some of these episodes have been Slice.

The so called “director’s nick” episodes don’t ADD anything… they only engage stuff. So not only do you not salvage the videos in with the episodes, you also fetch censored episodes as well.
Some examples from DVDTalk (so far) :
Buy,Download, Or Stream Beavis and Butt-head – The Mike Judge Collection, Vol. 1! Click Here
* 1-900-BEAVIS – On the Time Life disc, when the boys first effect the phone call, they laugh and Butthead says “She said something” and they continue to laugh. On the Paramount disc, this line is omitted.
During the call the lady asks if they’re there, and on the Time Life disc Butthead says “I consider I unprejudiced innoculated” (which is kinda laughable actually) . This line is removed in the Director’s Gash.
Then at the extinguish, the last line in the Time Life version is “Hey, maybe we’ll hear some butt wind.” This is removed from the Director’s Carve.
* Gradual Night with Butthead – The novel Director’s Sever removes the first dinky and a half of this episode, starting instead where B&B pitch the view for their talk present. It removes Letterman’s cameo declare appearance. Later, the director’s lop removes B&B celebrating with some air guitar after successfully pitching their explain.
So again, the only thing the Director’s Nick does is acquire stuff.
* Figure Drawing – The DC removes a line where their teacher says he’s about to narrate a class on Aroma Therapy. Three or four lines are then slash after B&B rearrange the letters on the heed. Several other dialogue cuts throughout. No additions.
* Held Succor – The DC removes the lines “This desk is giving me a stiffy” and “I don’t even have room for a stiffy”.
* Gross Meat – The DC removes a bit from the middle of a news broadcast talking about “a fierce novel parasite” in regards to Beavis making everyone sick at Burger World.
Gives a modern meaning to “Director’s Gash” doesn’t it?
Note that the first record for the B&B DVD said that the director’s cuts will be “different from orignal broadcast, but not necessarily longer”.
I can kind of understand the copyright disclose with including the videos, but not these other edits.
Don’t choose slash up crap like this.
Geez loueez!!!! Can you say ” Hatchet Job “? I knew you could. Ample disappointment here folks. ” Beavis and Butthead ” was a ground-breaking explain and my accepted engrossing series besides ” The Simpsons “. But Sony misses the impress big-time with this release. If they opinion on releasing more episodes on DVD, can they at least set aside the demonstrate in it’s noble invent?
Buy,Download, Or Stream Beavis and Butt-head – The Mike Judge Collection, Vol. 1! Click Here
Here is the biggest complaint: they have completely chopped out the music videos that were such an integral piece of the demonstrate when it was hasten on MTV. You know, the clips where a video is playing and the boys give their thoughts, whether they’d be trashing a bad one or cheering an Iron Maiden video. Gone, completely sever out! The MTV logo is plastered all over the case, but this DVD DOES NOT Characterize THE Point To AS SEEN IN IT’S Unique Create!!!! I don’t know if the videos have been sever out due to licensing restrictions ( as in older seasons of Mystery Science Theater, where the rights to the movies have expired ), but not having Beavis & Butthead making fun of the videos takes away an incredibly laughable aspect of the note.
On top of that, you collect nothing extra for the effect. No commentary, no unreleased material, NOTHING!!!!! Despite the fact of containing 7 episodes, the disc doesn’t even crack the 45-minute barrier!!! In fact, it seems like Sony went the extra mile to shortchange the consumer with this product. I fancy ” Beavis and Butthead "…

Prior to seeing this DVD, I hadn’t watched any episodes of You Bet Your Life, though I’d heard a few of the radio episodes. This was an older Groucho than I was faded to seeing in the movies, but he is smooth as witty as ever. I idea these 4 episodes were quite droll, with a few absolutely classic one-liners both from Groucho and his guests (he is completely upstaged at one point by a 78-year-old woman who has some hilarious remarks about being a spinster and then makes Groucho do out his cigar.)
This DVD is well worth checking out if you’ve never seen the expose before, especially if you’re considering getting the larger, more expensive boxsets like I am. Objective don’t demand a very substantive gameshow component – it’s mostly about banter between Groucho and the guests, with the sincere examine prove being more of an afterthought.
The production quality is feeble – the image hasn’t been cleaned up, there are occasional audio glitches, minor editing jumps, etc. It appears to be a straight-to-DVD pressing of The Best of Groucho, since that title hide appears before the first episode. I also had navigation problems with the scene selection veil, though that may have been due to my remote. But it’s very watchable and for a $5 DVD, it’s hard to complain too worthy.

The DeSoto commercials (and speak pitches from Groucho and announcer George Fenneman) appear throughout and appear to have been left mostly unedited, though I contemplate that’s actually a plus. I deem at least two of the episodes are from 1954, since they’re hawking a 1954 DeSoto. He does refer at one point to having sat in his chair for 7 years, but he’s probably counting befriend to 1947 when the radio reveal began. Also, in one of the episodes Groucho reads a telgram announcing that George Fenneman was voted best TV announcer by his fellow broadcasters, if that helps anyone identify the episodes.
If you’re a Groucho fan, this is too capable of a deal to pass up.
Word of warning; I recently bought this DVD and Volume 2 only to gape that all 4 episodes on Volume 1 and all 4 on Volume 2 are also available on the “Groucho Marx:You Bet Your Life” DVD from Platinum Disc Corp.(Which has 13 episodes) .

We stumbled on this anime online a few months ago, and were quite astonished at how valid it was. Expert pacing, combinded with a suspense filled tale manufacture for quite a creep. But be warned, this anime is not for the faint of heart. It is approach brutally violent. The only major flaw is, like many shows in their prime, the final episode (episode 13) leaves you on a cliff hanger that is never resolved in the anime, as the display suddenly stopped.

I have been writing to this company for years asking them to purchase up this property again and they finally did! So you can thank me for this juicy bit of Samurai Cinema. These films are improbable and I would recommend them for anybody (over the age of 18) who loves “Zatoichi” or any other Samurai film or series such as “Lone Wolf and Cub.” Purposeful plots and fun fight scenes splatter across the conceal in these first four films of Nemuri Kyoshiro, the Son of the Dusky Mass, as he roams the streets of Edo or the countryside of fuedal Japan. Give these films a try and you wont be disappointed, fail to do so and you may be disemboweled…
I enjoy the laser disc versions of episodes 1-4 from Animeigo so am eagerly awaiting the effect going down to ‘upgrade’ my collection of these huge films into DVD format. Raizo’s character in this series unprejudiced doesn’t operate with a consistently correct deck – he is erratic (and thus the films are always surprising. Gigantic character.) The middle period of these “Son of Unlit Mass” films (ep 5-8) have better production values than these four and the series gets more psychedelically baroque as it moves on (not to detriment.) I salvage myself not really responding fully to the series (which I contemplate repeatedly) until episode three. The poor princess in film three is vast, and the somewhat slower/dark (by that I mean not very intelligent prints) episodes 1 & 2 are left leisurely. From this point on the series becomes consistently exceptional, albeit a bit episodic with arbitrary plotting at times. The Murky Mass films have replaced the Lone Wolf and Cub flics (the six films) as my approved all-time chambarra fix.

The Recent Adventures of He-Man is a series that has unfortunately been badmouthed a delicate bit over the years, usually by people who watched one episode, decided it was too different, and branded it ‘awful’. This has assign the series at somewhat of a disadvantage over time, with people judging it without even watching it(and I mark this has spread to amazon with two people reviewing this region before it was even released) . Admittedly the character desgins are very different to the filmation versions, but if you can pick up past the characters differences and focus on the storytelling you should be able to be pleased this as an tantalizing continuation of the lives of He-Man and Skeletor.
Buy,Download, Or Stream The New Adventures of He-Man, Vol. 1! Click Here
He-Man himself is the same character, voiced by the ever righteous Gary Chalk. Skeletor is quite different to the old-fashioned version, more of a comedian here, he is no longer the bumbling oaf seen towards the waste of the broken-down series. He actually manages to defeat He-Man and drive him into exile in a multi fraction storyline, as well as gaining some other victories(and a unusual costume) . He’s comparable to Ticket Hamill’s Joker from Batman: The Though-provoking Series, and is a very well developed villain who usually steals the demonstrate when on veil.
While the weak series is a classic, it was stale in many areas. Characters were often toned down and a childish tone taken, while accurate messages took over the episodes, not to mention the overuse of stock footage animation and almost total lack of continuity. The Novel Adventures maintained a strong continuity, with multi share storylines with more depth than seen before. The gripping is of a pleasant quality, while more anime influenced.

There are an abundance of extras as with all the BCI sets, this one featuring a documentary where the writers talk about the creation of the series, and a documentary talking about the various comics of the He-Man franchise. Overall a tall situation, if you approach to this series with an initiate mind, you’ll gain it a expedient continuation of the He-Man series with a different trot and some nice throwbacks to the classic series every so often.
In the tremendous plot of things, The Original Adventures of He-Man is perhaps the most underrated, most misunderstood, least current, and heavily criticized of all of the incarnations of our celebrated blonde haired swordsman. BCI, in attempt to release a DVD compilation of He-Man of simply unprecedented thoroughness has not allowed the lack of hype surrounding The Recent Adventures to stand in the draw of bringing the entire season (65 episodes) to the home market. I must confess that I somehow managed to completely overlook this prove in it’s new syndication broadcast (1989-1990) and didn’t even realize it had existed until the DVD sets were released. Volume One consists of the first 33 episodes of the massive 65 episode season spread out across 6 discs. My mission was to delve into the series, a newcomer with no premeditated expectations to occupy me befriend, and to resolve where the Unique Adventures of He-Man stacks up in the curious Masters of the Universe universe.
The first five episodes of the explain were its unofficial pilot and enjoy some physical differences from the remaining episodes that followed. Most remarkable of these changes include a completely revamped Skeletor (which was definitely a wise depart considering he looked doughy and rather laughable initially) and the addition of a pony tail to He-Man’s fresh noteworthy shorter hair do. Aside from such nuances, the core of the program and all of its characters transition smoothly from the pilot into the right series.
That said, is the program advantageous of the abuse it often receives from die-hard fans of the Filmation current? Absolutely not. In fact, The Unique Adventures actually contains some of the richest set developments and most incandescent scripting of any of the three incarnations of He-Man (not counting the live-actor feature film of course) . The anguish, I suspect, arises when fans of the recent stumble upon the Unusual Adventures and immediately discover that aside from the name, there is nearly no connection to the fantasy-driven roots of the current to be found. Having near into this region directly after viewing (and reviewing) the entire Filmation He-Man & She-Ra shows, indeed this transition takes some getting extinct to. The program looks completely different and that goes well beyond simply environments but includes characters mutual to both versions as well (He-Man, Skeletor, Sorceress, etc. are all nearly unrecognizable from their Filmation counterparts) . The quick-witted colors of the Filmation series are replaced with a more washed out pallet and the animation itself is remarkable more action oriented (and extinct far less stock footage than the novel relied upon) . Yes folks, even He-Mans transformation routine is entirely unique and great shorter. For reasons unknown, by the power of Grayskull becomes by the power of Eternia this time around as well. However once the viewer becomes accustomed to these differences, the demonstrate begins to shine in its occupy brilliance. In other words, it is foolhardy to attempt to compare this series to the Filmation version as it never intended to replace the universe created there. Instead this is an entirely separate belief that intended to bring the conception of He-Man to an entirely different demographic. Did Jetlag productions succeed? Without a doubt.
He-Man, in all of its incarnations, has always been large about sneaking approved culture into its plots. Novel Adventures keeps this tradition alive by having Skeletor lead a band of mutants in the struggle against trustworthy. In case you have been living in a cave or are too young to remember the tedious eighties, mutants were all the rage thanks in no runt allotment to a quartet of ninjitsu trained shelled reptilians. Additionally Skeletor’s compose over moved away from the mindless heckling and turned into a very welcome impression of Jack Nicholson’s rendition of the Joker from the 1988 blockbuster film, Batman. I cannot stress how considerable of an improvement this change alone brings to the richness of the prove. While the show’s creators wisely kept his sidekicks in the lower reaches of the IQ scale, the writing for the Skeletor character had been improved upon tenfold.
Also original to the series was the anime style its Asian artists incorporated. The peek, texture, and feel of the indicate bears more of a resemblance to earlier 1980s programs such as Voltron and Robotech than it does Filmation’s acquire on the Mattel franchise. Then there were the plots. Long gone were the rudimentary grand versus foul backbones that a majority of the Filmation episodes revolved around and in their site are grand richer dwelling developments and more fleshed out character relationships. This is immediately apparent through the program’s exhaust of continuous (multi fraction) episodes that setup the framework for the entire expose. Continuity is spot-on and small, out of the diagram details in earlier episodes are most always revisited and further explained in later ones.
The supporting cast of characters takes a itsy-bitsy getting venerable to as well. Gone are the cliche staples such as Orko and Man at Arms and in their position are a host of very Japanese feeling supporters. Among these is the wise fable Master Sebrian (a bad between Yoda and Dungeon Master), the quartet of amusing relief scientists whose names are all but impossible to remember (except for Gepple), two young shepard siblings, and a few robots. Fortunately the hero (Galactic Guardians) roster rapid expands and within the first few discs we accept He-Man fighting along side an impressive team of superheroes that are equal parts classic fantasy meets GI Joe.
By the time I had completed my tour of this 6-disc situation, I had concluded that the show’s lackluster set in the He-Man hierarchy has less to do with quality animation and solid writing and remarkable more to do with fans of the novel incarnation becoming upset with honest how different Original Adventures was. However, BCI in their untiring attention to detail has arranged so that He-Fans no longer have to mediate The Fresh Adventures a threat to anyone’s pristine memories of the Filmation version. After all, they have released both shows in their entirety for fans to relish. Which reminds me, the sincere box plot itself is typical BCI magic which, in case this is the first of my many reviews you’ve stumbled upon, means glorious mask and interior art, a chunky color booklet, a sixth disc filled with bonus material, and a pair of collectors art cards (this time by Ed McGuinness and Bryan Hitch) .

Okay, I’m 34 and I bought it. Why? Because when I was 8 years ancient Sigmund & the Seamonsters kept me glued to the TV. Like most of the Krofft programs (namely this and Land of the Lost) it was unbiased different from everything else on. Until recently I had racked my brain trying to remember some of the titles (Bugaloos, Kaptain Kool & the Kongs, Dr. Shrinker, the one about the dune buggy) but now they are all over the internet. These shows were far from cheesy to a dinky 70s kid. They had a profound accomplish on the blueprint I grew up. Magic, dreams and imagination are great tougher to advance by in todays children. It’s all spelled out in digital glory. Before long you’ll be able to play Shrek on your X-box 2 and it’ll survey better than the film. It’s fabulous to go attend to a time before there was Playstation…or even Atari. Fair a box of sugary cereal and a Krofft program. Pick me succor!!
I establish these for when I’m in a special mood some saturday morning. I pop this in the DVD and accumulate transported to a more simple time. It’s really bizarre the do these have on me. My first concept when I ordered it was that I’d wasted my money on a diminutive kid’s present I musty to gawk and it would not match my memories of those fabulous times. Well, surprize! These are better now than they were. The sense of nostalgia is staggering. And there’s a bonus: incredible unintentional humor. The arrangement the puppets travel and talk is hilarious even if they don’t say anything comical. I accept a sense that the Krofft brothers knew all along what it took Mystery Science Theater 3000 10 years to yell me. It’s been said that Pufnstuff was watched mostly by hippies in the 60s and 70s. After a friday night … … they’d accept up saturday morning and gape. And what did they gape? …, … landscapes, bigheaded creatures talking in zany voices. I’ve ordered Land of the Lost DVD and can’t wait to effect it on my shelf. If you grew up with these then purchase the shuffle too. The World of Sid & Marty Krofft is brighter than it ever was! You’ll have fun. I promise you.

“Who ever heard of a gracious sea monster…”
I don’t know what it is about this expose. Could it be the warm memories I have of watching it when it first came out? Whatever it may be, whenever I recognize Sigmund and The Sea Monsters, I’m immediately cheered up and a goofy smile comes to my face as I study Johnny and Scott reach to rescue Sigmund once again from the clutches of Burp and Slurp, Titanic Momma and Tremendous Daddy.

Unlike many children’s shows, there’s no violence here. No weapons. No fighting. No one is truly contaminated – impartial mean aged monsters that are too incompetent to be of any true pain. And even though Aunt Zelda is the authoritative adult on the prove, she’s loved by Johnny and Scott who obey her without too considerable of a fuss. It’s an idealistic world that they live in. Maybe that’s fragment of the charm.
This DVD contains four episodes, an interview with Johnny Whitaker and Scott Kolden, a Singmund theme song sing-along, the introduction song to HR Pufnstuf, along with a few stills from the reveal.
Children will like these shows as noteworthy as any adult who remembers them.

“Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors” was one of my common 80s consuming series. It’s legal up there with “ThunderCats” — that favorable! But “Jayce” was rather overlooked compared to the likes of “ThunderCats”, “He-Man”, “She-Ra”, “Voltron” and many other splendid provocative series of that decadent decade.
“Jayce” has very first-rate storytelling for starters: the basic premise is about a scientist named Audric (Jayce’s father) who nearly succeded with ending starvation and hunger in great star systems with the creation of genetically-engineered vegetation. Out of the blue, a cosmic explosion occurs and causes Audric’s creations to wildly mutate into creatures with contaminated brains (called Monster Minds) . Audric had to flit his laboratory with one half of a magical relic called “The Root” (Jayce somehow has the other half) that, when fused, would revert the tainted creations and their machinations help to harmless vegetation. Jayce, with the relieve of an faded and wise wizard named Gillian, an empathic girl named Flora, and an intergalactic traveling merchant named Herc Stormsailor, sets out to search for his father before the Monster Minds over the universe. And I can’t forget Jayce’s cramped companion, a robot squire named Oon who believes his lance is “magic” (which adds a degree of cuteness to what is otherwise dramatic and thrilling stories) .

“Jayce” was among J. Michael Strasyncski’s (“of “Babylon 5″ fame) first major efforts at sci-fi storytelling and was also co-producer of this series. It also has gigantic music by Shuki Levy and Haim Saban (some of the most talented musicians for piquant fare), and is glorious nicely lively by DIC (the creators of “M.A.S.K.”, “Inspector Gadget” and “Where On Earth is Carmen Sandiego? ) .
I deem “Jayce” is a timeless series and is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, especially if you are a fan of 80s toons, or any 80s TV program for that matter.
I recently purchased the rag-tag collection of 3 episodes plus a “bonus” 4th, but that was a year ago and it was the only bit of Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors availible. Now finally we bag to scrutinize the whole first season with all the characters we remembered in the 80′s. I remember this being my current cartoon on TV at that time and aside from Transformers, nothing else mattered. Jayce is a Luke Skywalker rip-off but who cares? His modern land vehicle deliver is what makes him unigue. In additon to the Thundercats, this is the other animation DVD I have been waiting to lift. Herc the Jerc is the likable character as in Han Solo clone, yet he is awesome as a horseback rider and has some other qualities Han Solo didn’t. Odviously, Herc was voiced by a guy experienced in D.J. radio or a sports caster as his command is that quality. Jayce’s side-kick Oone is a miniture cavalier who is annoying more than laughable. Flora is a young plant/human girl hybrid and the fish named Broc, is even weirder. The wizard utilises magic and science in equal measure proving they are one(as in ether I enlighten) . Other characters(NPCs) are more consuming in these tapes than in the mere foursome collction I was milked for, where mostly the regulars appeared. I engage the rest of the series will soon be out! Don’t choose for “difinitive collections” but seasons.

Given that these collections have to be pleasing short — typically 70 minutes — this one has an fantastic range of agreeable material in it. Nearly every major speech of the 1960 campaign and of the presidency is here, althought most have to be represented by brief clips (but the clips are well-chosen) . The editing of “Ich bin ein berliner”, of the Texas “we will go to the moon” speech, and of the “Novel Frontier” (1960 convention acceptance speech) in particular, is shrewd and gives you a really great feel for what JFK was favorable at as a speaker — probably the last of two vast masters (the other was Martin Luther King) of the transitional style (the one we associate with FDR, Robert Taft, Adlai Stevenson, or Douglas MacArthur) in American public address.
Two wretched omissions are the American University “peace” address, and the complete omission of material from the Senate. There is occasional overlaying with “nostalgia” footage but it’s mercifully brief and seldom obscures the speeches themselves. Clips of the speeches addressing the federalizing of the Alabama Guard in the U of A integration struggle, and of the announcement of the blockade during the Cuban missile crisis, are grand but it’s melancholy that they are not longer. But these are quibbles.
Some truly mammoth stuff here; a very ample chop of the Inaugural (with most of the famed quotes given their valid contexts) ; nicely chosen clips of the Kennedy-Truman “inaugurate convention” squabble; a couple of extemporaneous excoriations of Nixon; the address to Protestant ministers on the subject of Kennedy’s religion. Definitely one for your collection if you are enthusiastic in public speaking, or if you issue speech or history.
I work in the political field. Presidential history is one of my specialties. I am a faded history teacher, also, who collects political memorabilia and went to high school and college (Florida Place University) in the Kennedy-Johnson era. It was a astonishing era and this is a pleasurable tape, if you like JFK. Ignore the comments about dreadful production. This is sometime after Kennedy, production techniques have improved considerably. I am selective about what I assume and possess me, there is nothing about this tape, in my considered and historically-based thought, that should originate the JFK afficionado have second thoughts about buying it!
