A True Disappointment
I just finished watching this movie with my 3 kids (4-1/2 boy and 2-1/2 twin girls). They are all avid Care Bear fans and love the old cartoons. After the initial five minutes where the Care Bears all appear they lost interest. Except for Funshine Bear, you hardly see the other Care Bears as most of the plot takes place in Joke-A-Lot; a land full of grotesque creatures who are neither amusing or cute to look at. Where are Hugs and Tugs, The Care Bear Stare, Beastly, Shrieky, Lord No Heart? Don’t get your hopes up for the CD either – there are 3 songs in the whole movie so I’m sure it will be a waste of money as well.
This movie had great potential – its too bad they blew it.

Distorting the Care Bears under the guise of ‘updating’
I should preface this review by stating that I still love the Care Bears. I own both of their other full-length movies. It was one of my favorite cartoons growing up. And I was always particularly attached to Funshine bear, and cried when I lost my Funshine doll.

So when I heard there would be another movie, this time about Funshine, I was thrilled. Or, I was for the first few moments.

I realize that the producers of this film are attempting to keep the Care Bears fresh for a new generation, and I appreciate that since I would love nothing more than to see these characters last forever. But I think this film diverted from the original *too* much.

The Care Bears are scary looking in CGI. I don’t like the lack of villians, it makes Funshine seem like the bad guy. And more importantly, what the (bleep) is up with Funshine being a male bear?

She’s female! Can someone please pay a little more attention here? I’m dying. You could at least pretend to care about the original cartoons.

Maybe young kids will like this film, although I think the CGI bears will frighten them. But those of us who grew up with the Care Bears certainly don’t appreciate it.

Not The Same
Okay, Sure this movie is cute and fun like ‘Care Bears’ of the past but The kids DO seem like 5 year olds. I know this movie is a new continuity but there’s something missing.

Fun for little Kids but not for Old Fans. If the ‘Care Bear’ owners wanted old fans to ‘re-connect’ to the fanbase this movie does NOT do it!

Looks like it is just repackaged from the 4 volumes earlier this year.
I looked at this set in the store today and it really appears as if the contents actually are the 4 Ultimate Collectors Volumes inside this case with Craig’s Casino Royale along side. And by the contents being the 4 Volumes, literally, it looks like they are inside this black box.

I opted for the Ulimate Collector’s Bundle for $179, instead of this, since I purchased Casino Royale when it was released, and I am really just looking for all the previous movies from Connery to Brosnan in the remastered 2-disc versions.

Also of note, if you want all the Bond films- you have to order Never Say Never Again as a separate item, that is not part of the MGM/UA library.

Great content, awful packaging
Yes, it’s all 21 movies with 21 bonus discs. All that’s phenomenal. But the packaging is awful. That gorgeous box in the picture? It’s the flimsiest fold-and-assemble cardboard out there. Inside, the movies are not presented in chronological order. Instead it’s vol. 1-4 of the Ultimate Edition, stuck in this flimsy box. They’re all thin-line cases with the liner notes stacked to the side in the box. You can’t put them in the individual cases with their respective movies. Sure, you could buy 20 blank cases, but then it wouldn’t fit in the box they gave you. Now all that’s for the first twenty. Then stuck on the end, is the normal 2-DVD package of Casino Royale. It’s added on like an after-thought.

This is great product, but with the absolute cheapest way of presenting the material imaginable. It’s in no way comparable in quality to the Star Trek ten movie set. Truly, all they did was stick the old, hodge-podge Ultimate Edition sets and the Casino Royale two disc in a flimsy box.

CHEAP.

I’m okay with it because I got lucky and bought in on the $95.99 release day 24-hour super sale (which goes to show you just how much they’re marked up). If I’d paid over $200 for this, I’d be livid.

With all that said, the movies themselves look great – digitally remastered, etc. Again, great content, very amatuer presentation.

Region 1 is Shortchanged Again
I am deducting 1 star because the packaging is not worthy of the ultimate James Bond set.

While Europe and parts of Asia get the stunning attache case box set, the US and Canada get only a cardboard box. OK. A shiny cardboard box.

Inclusion of Casino Royale, notwitstanding.

Go Diego Go Excellent for Teaching and Distraction
I purchased several episodes of Go Diego Go from both Season 1 and Season 2 and feel they are worth their weight in gold.

Amazon Unbox is easy to use and connects easily with my Creative Zen MP3 player.

I have 2 year old and 3 year old grandchildren and both Diego and Dora keep them not only enthralled and busy when necessary. Such as on long plane rides or when we are out to eat.The best part is they are also interacting and learning while being kept busy.

As an aside, downloading these to your computer and then having them ready to transfer to your MP3 player is something that takes a good deal of time. So plan on about an hour and a half per episode. I purchased mine in the evening and then let my computer work all night getting them downloaded.

Highly recommended for everyone
Well, I have to laugh at the negative person who thinks this is useless. I am sure his life is nothing but negative in all areas, and probably the type to complain over and over about something rather than find a solution or see the lesson there.

This movie is a highly recommended, useful tool and just plain good information and reminders of the power of our own minds, with good examples from many successful people of different walks of life.

I recommend watching it numerous times, taking notes on points that stand out to you, and passing it on… pay it forward.

Given me a more positive perspective
The advice from the successful people in the movie is subtle, but powerful. By making me more aware of how to make better decisions and have a more positive perspective, the joy in my life has increased tremendously.

Creating a spiritual revolution
This is a great little movie about the power of mind, the power of thought, and the power of creating what you want. I like all version of “The Secret” because I feel that, although materialistically oriented, they are moving the masses towards a spiritual awakening. The Secret has done us all a favor by bringing spirituality to the previously uninterested.

I love The Secret and other books like it because it has paved the way for writers like myself to awareness to the healing power of emotional release.
